The ENVIROSAX company takes its global awareness to a whole new level, humbling even the most active environmentalists.  The company was started back in 2004 by a couple living on ten acres of Australian rainforest with their three children. 

Belinda and Mark David-Tooze are a rare example of people living entirely off the grid.  They utilize solar cells for their hot water and electricity needs.  They have a sewage system that enables them to recycle wastewater to be reused for watering their permaculture gardens.  And they filter rainwater for their organic vegetable gardens.

This company uses recyclable and renewable products whenever possible. Waste fabric from the making of ENVIROSAX is recycled and used as stuffing in everything from car seats to mattresses. Of course, ENVIROSAX went one step further and made certain that this dry recycling process does not use or release any hazardous chemicals into the environment. They encourage their customers to return old reusable bags to them for recycling in exchange for $1 off their next ENVIROSAX purchase. Way cool.

ENVIROSAX is not only committed to operating entirely based on ecologically sustainable practices, but they also are fully invested in educating the world about sustainable living. Every year, a member of the ENVIROSAX team attends the International Conference on Environmental, Cultural, Economic and Social Sustainability, and even presented a paper on a curriculum for grade school children in 2007.

Refuting Expected Objections-Truth be told, these bags are in fact made from polyester. We were skeptical at first but after fully examining the rationalization behind ENVIROSAX’s material selection, we found it to be justified (otherwise we wouldn’t be selling the bags on Organic Bug). 

Plastic bags are a problem for the environment when they are not reused, however, these bags are specifically designed for just that. Polyester proved to be the most efficient material for ensuring that the ENVIROSAX bags would be preferred among the non-reusable plastic bag users that they are trying to convert. Logically, if the bags were not designed to be desirable on all levels, it would be all that more difficult to convince conventional shoppers to make the switch. By using polyester, ENVIROSAX is able to create a bag that is:
