Fire & Light Originals began its life in 1995 as a partnership between the Arcata Community Recycling Center in Humboldt County, California, and a group of local investors who wanted to develop an innovative plan for using crushed, recycled bottles.

The reclaimed bottles are given new life through a process that turns them into a raw material. Crushed glass is melted in super hot furnaces, pigment is added and the molten glass is pressed into various shapes. As a result, distinctive handmade colored glass dinnerware and giftware is produced and sold all over the US.   

The first glass products were poured and pressed in the Fire & Light furnaces in December, 1995. These luminous colored glassware creations that have evolved are functional pieces of art whose history is a kind of future, where age-old craftsmanship meets innovative manufacturing.

But it's the beauty of these products that is magical~the twinkle of light on the surface of a cobalt blue star, the swirls and crackles of color that invade hand shaped bowls and the knowledge that these skilled artisans get as much happiness out of their craft as you will as you become a proud collector.
