Use low-wattage fluorescent lighting & multi-functional energy-efficient office equipment
Unused equipment is donated or if unusable sent to a recycling facility for reclamation
Clean with non-toxic cleaning products
Minimize air-conditioning & heating with the use of Energy Star rated ceiling fans
Keep travel to a minimum by teleconferencing & researching new product online
Balance carbon emissions we can’t reduce in our office & warehouse, for shipping & any necessary travel with the purchase of carbon offset credits through TerraPass.com

Reuse as much packing & packaging materials as possible from our suppliers
Encourage suppliers to use minimal & eco-friendly packaging for products & order fulfillment
Purchase shipping supplies that are eco-friendly and have as much recycled content as possible
More than 70% of our products are directly shipped from supplier to customer as a way of reducing carbon emissions
paper & printing
Miscellaneous mail or paper used internally is recycled or shredded when appropriate for later use in packing
Office copy paper is 100% post consumer recycled paper and used minimally
Purchase re-inked printer cartridges & recycle used cartridges
Letterhead & business cards are 100% post consumer recycled paper processed chlorine free & printed with non toxic inks as are our discount bookmarks for special events

Printed invoices are not included with orders shipped from our warehouse & encourage drop ship vendors to adopt this same practice

As co-founders of OrganicBug.com Patty and I often personally test products as do many other organic "bugs"we know and love! We recently implemented the Rate & Review portion of our product pages so to get the REVIEW process rolling, we took the liberty of weighing in on many of the products that we have had an opportunity to use over time.
Note that we do not automatically give all of the products we test a 5-star rating because we wish to provide you with practical information that is helpful as you make your purchasing decisions. Additionally, you can be sure 100% of our customer ratings are posted to give you a true sense of the product and its pros & cons. We designed this rating system to give you a more hands on feel for what you are getting when your purchases arrive.
