Opening as a rather eclectic general store in 1993, Seattle-based Bitters Co. purchases utilitarian household products, often by their own design, from artisans around the world. Sisters Amy and Katie Carson continue their mission today of working directly with artisans who share their interest in the resourceful use of materials while maintaining high standards within the art of their respective craft. The Bitters Co. Collection is a compilation of extraordinary and cleverly designed products that we are pleased to offer!
Amy began her studies of painting and design at the University of Colorado at Boulder. She later added wood working to her repertoire resulting in further studies overseas and back in the USA at the Rhode Island School of Design. In 2005, Amy and Katie opened the Studio in their barn where they design and manufacture a growing collection of furniture and accessories from reclaimed wood. Influenced by Japanese wood working techniques and the clean simplicity of Scandinavian design, Amy’s sense of design lends itself beautifully to the sisters’ most recent venture!
