In college Christopher Cowen’s love for the outdoors directed him toward environmental studies and horticulture. An avid supporter of ethical agriculture, Christopher promotes sustainable living on all fronts. As a health seeker he studies vegan and live food nutrition through his ongoing association with raw food health gurus like Gabriel Cousens, M.D., Founder of Tree of Life Rejuvenation Center in Patagonia, Arizona.
Along his path, Christopher realized certain important elements of nutrition in his diet were lacking. So, he began sourcing the superfoods that he felt were vital to healthful living, foods that are raw, organic or wild-crafted & vegan and that retain the highest vibration possible. This mindfulness led him to some amazing lands and people in the US and abroad, resulting in the development of Vivapura, a company that offers a high quality selection of ethically sourced superfoods.
Located in beautiful Patagonia, Arizona, Christopher’s intention is to keep Vivapura small enough to personally insure each hand selected product is dried or prepared at low temperatures to preserve the enzymes, vitamins, minerals and healing properties unique to each food. These handcrafted superfoods are infused with love and dedication to a higher cause~peace, evolution and awakening. Vivapura makes sure all its food is intentionally harvested and prepared employing a high level of fair trade and environmental standards. The result is an offering of raw & nutrient dense foods that support well-being on all levels. You can feel good that you are nourishing your body in a way that invigorates health and consciousness while at the same time contributing to green living and a more sustainable world.
The entire Vivapura product line is tested for energetic integrity and life force and ultimately endorsed by Dr. Cousens. All packaging and shipping materials are selected to meet the highest environmental standards available. Vivapura uses kraft paper bags that are unbleached, recycled, and biodegradable, even the little clear window is made from 100% biodegradable plant cellulose. Inner cellophane bags are made of 98% biodegradable plant cellulose that also optimizes freshness and supplies a high moisture barrier. Shipping materials are 100% recycled content boxes filled with corn-based packing peanuts.
Further green initiatives include environmentally friendly office supplies; the Vivapura office and warehouse makes use of repurposed furnishings and décor. Employees walk or bike to work whenever possible and company bio-diesel vehicles use 99% vegetable oil instead of petroleum!
