Teamwork is the key to success at The Green Glass Company, a glass studio located in the peaceful woodlands of Northern Wisconsin. Beginning in 1992 in South Africa with the invention of a process that converts discarded bottles into usable glassware, the Green glass Company has become the largest producer of reclaimed glassware in the World.
As pioneers of the reclaimed glassware market, engineers and designers worked together to develop the process of separating a bottle to create a tumbler from the bottom half and a goblet from the top. As one can imagine they also had to devise state-of-the-art equipment to accomplish this delicate task. Their patent on the unique wine bottle-to-goblet conversion process is a testament to their determination.
Committed to preserving our natural resources, owners Severine Zaslavski and Oscar Wientjes ensure that every step of the process is done in the most environmentally friendly manner possible. All the bottles used by The Green Glass Company are collected from the waste stream and supplied to them by partner networks. Frosted glass is achieved through an eco-friendly sandblasting process using inert aluminum oxide.
With the increasing popularity of recycled products and the continuing introduction of new product lines and innovative designs, The Green Glass Company is sure to maintain its lead in the industry. In addition to popping up on movie sets and at celebrity dinners The Green Glass Company goblets have graced the table of King Carlos of Spain and a former Mayor of New York City. Throughout Europe and other parts of the world this captivating glassware is considered collectable art glass.
