The artisan groups are as diverse as the villages and communities from which they come. Village cooperatives, slum projects and community workshops may choose to serve people with special needs or work to alleviate social, political and environmental challenges. Crafts range from handmade baskets, clothing, jewelry, games, musical instruments, stationery and much more!

What began with two women using their ingenuity to make extra money while cleaning up their neighborhood has become an art form that provides a living wage for a fast growing number of low income families. Waste paper is first collected throughout the densely populated Bangkok slums. Once the paper is prepared for use, it is rolled into tiny strips then patiently hand woven to create whimsical and well crafted pen & pencil holders, flowers, baskets, refrigerator magnets, and jewelry.
